englischComposed between 1931 and 1970, the “Black Notebooks” mark the longest stretch of Heidegger’s path of thought. This book is the first comprehensive analysis of Heidegger’s Notes, which were published in the span of nine years, situating them within the context of the life and work of its author as well as in the time in which they were conceived. The “Notebooks” confirm Heidegger’s capability to recognise his own steps as “beaten track” that can lead to dead ends. They give the contemporary man the task of recognising his own finitude and of taking responsibility for all areas of meaning in the world. Rosa Marafioti is a professor at the University of Bergamo; her field of research includes phenomenology, hermeneutics and German idealism.
