Die Reihe dokumentiert Forschungsleistungen der deutschsprachigen Andrássy Universität Budapest im Bereich der europäischen Integration, der Transformationsprozesse der Staaten Mittel- und Osteuropas sowie der Rückwirkung dieser Prozesse auf die Europäische Union. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt bilden die politische, rechtliche und ökonomische Entwicklung der mittel- und osteuropäischen Staaten sowie die Geschichte und Kultur dieser Staaten, einschließlich der Auseinandersetzung mit der kommunistischen Vergangenheit. Daneben gilt ein besonderes Interesse den auf die Entwicklung der Region Mittel- und Osteuropas gerichteten Strategien (wie die Donauraumstrategie der Europäischen Union) und den Beziehungen zu den Nachbarstaaten der Europäischen Union im Osten und auf dem Balkan.
Dieses Profil der Schriftenreihe lässt sich in folgende vier Schwerpunkte zusammenfassen, die in vorwiegend interdisziplinären Studien behandelt werden sollen: Integrationsprozesse in der Europäischen Union; Qualität der neuen Demokratien und Marktwirtschaften in Mittel- und Osteuropa; Auseinandersetzung mit der kommunistischen Vergangenheit in Mittel- und Osteuropa und ihrer Wirkung auf die Entwicklung der Demokratie; Identitäten: Kulturen und Minderheiten im Donauraum.


This series documents the research findings of the German-speaking Andrássy Universität in Budapest in the field of European integration, the transformation processes in Central and Eastern European countries and their repercussions on the European Union. The series focuses in particular on the political, legal and economic development of Central and Eastern European states as well as their history and culture, including how they have confronted their communist past. In addition, it examines certain strategies (such as the ‘EU Strategy for the Danube Region’) designed to boost the development of the Central and Eastern European region and the relations of Central and Eastern European countries to their EU neighbours in the East and in the Balkans.
The series’ aforementioned objectives can be subsumed under the following four categories, which for the most part should be addressed in interdisciplinary studies: integration processes in the European Union, the quality of the new democracies and market economies in Central and Eastern Europe and their effects on the development of democracy, and identities: cultures and minorities in the Danube region.
