The author develops criteria to make extra-legal influences in the form of the prediction results of computer-aided modeling on administrative and judicial proceedings judicial decisions in environmental law visible and controllable. Existing standards of model evaluation in science as well as required criteria from model and legal literature are considered and utilized. The legal handling of hydronumerical modeling in the administrative and judcial proceedings for the river extensions of the Elbe and the Weser serve as an illustrative example from practice.
