englischThe legal framework governing physicians who are approved for contractual medical care in Germany reveals, from the perspective of other legal disciplines, systemic ruptures and an "ignoranc" toward constitutional law. This encompasses both long-standing issues, such as the question of democratic legitimacy concerning the regulatory activities of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), as well as emerging challenges like the regulation of „medizinische Versorgungszentren“ (medical care centers). The archetype of the contract physician is the focus of the conference proceedings originating from a symposium held by the Institute for European Health Policy and Social Security Law (ineges) in September 2023 at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
