englischThe thesis is dedicated to the desire of parents, especially mothers, to be able to pursue gainful employment despite special or ongoing care or support needs due to a disability of their children. The question of reconciling family and career arises particularly strongly in such constellations. In doing so, the requirements of international and EU law are taken into account. Particular attention will be paid to Directive 2019/1158/EU, which came into force in 2022. It is a pioneering work of high social topicality with impulses for the mobilization of rights in favor of the parents of disabled children.
Die Arbeit widmet sich dem Wunsch von Eltern, insbesondere Müttern trotz besonderer bzw. andauernder Betreuungs- oder Unterstützungsbedarfe aufgrund einer Behinderung ihrer Kinder einer Erwerbstätigkeit nachgehen zu können. Die Frage der Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf stellt sich in solchen Konstellationen in besonderem Maße. Dabei werden die Vorgaben des Völker- und Unionsrechts berücksichtigt. Besonderes Augenmerk bekommt die 2022 in Kraft getretene RL 2019/1158/EU. Es handelt sich um ein Pionierwerk von hoher gesellschaftlicher Aktualität mit Impulsen für die Mobilisierung von Rechten zugunsten der Eltern behinderter Kinder.
