englischAdrian Pretzsch examines how the National Socialist legal reformation is reflected in the Critical Quarterly’s essays and reviews from 1933 until its temporary end in 1944.

A prologue provides the contemporary framework for legal scientific publishing and gives an insight into the overwhelming pressure to political alignment exerted by the institutions of National Socialist literature and university politics.

In the main part, the author sets out the essential lines of legal development during National Socialism and traces them with literary methodology in the Critical Quarterly’s essays and reviews, always guided by the question: Did the Critical Quarterly submit to National Socialism or did it resist the injustice?
