englischThe rise of industrial farming has led to many farmers having to give up their businesses. This has had an impact on almost every region and agricultural farm. The fight against this change is often regarded as a governmental obligation. Some look to the government to oppose this progression. This work examines the constitutional term ‘agricultural structure’ and agricultural structural change in an interdisciplinary approach for the first time. The question raised is: Can the law regulate the transition to industrial farming, and if so, how? Should exceptions be made for the agricultural sector if governmental intervention is justified? The answers are of major importance for current and future discussions in agricultural politics. The author studied law as well as agricultural sciences at the universities of Göttingen and Copenhagen.
