englisch"Our female colleagues wear high heels." Companies often regulate the appearance of their employees – right down to their underwear. On the one hand, this dissertation examines how legal stipulations regarding an employee’s appearance can be dogmatically justified. It draws up where one-sided expectations end and legal obligations of employees begin. On the other hand, the thesis discusses for the first time to what extent requirements that contain differing regulations for women and men can discriminate against employees on the basis of their gender (and other factors) in a multidimensional way and what legal consequences this holds for employees.
