englischIn a policy analysis, the author examines the emergence of the policy field of politics with history in the field of tension between coming to terms with the past, remembrance, culture and German politics. She comes to the conclusion that it is only from the beginning of the 1990s, with the start of the reappraisal of the SED dictatorship, that one can speak of politics with history as an independent policy field. In the second part of the work, the author uses the federal government's memorial concept as a case study in order to work out lines of development, actor constellations and future issues in the policy field. The work thus provides valuable insights for political science and contemporary history and related institutions.
Die Autorin untersucht in einer Politikfeldanalyse die Entstehung des Politikfelds Geschichtspolitik im Spannungsfeld von Vergangenheitsbewältigung, Erinnerungspolitik, Kultur- und Deutschlandpolitik. Sie kommt zu der Erkenntnis, dass erst ab Anfang der 1990er Jahre, mit dem Beginn der Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur von Geschichtspolitik als eigenständigem Politikfeld gesprochen werden kann. Die Gedenkstättenkonzeption des Bundes dient der Autorin im zweiten Teil der Arbeit als Fallbeispiel, um Entwicklungslinien, Akteurskonstellationen und Zukunftsfragen des Politikfeldes herauszuarbeiten. Die Arbeit liefert damit auf anschauliche Weise wertvolle Erkenntnisse für Politikwissenschaft und Zeitgeschichte und zugehörige Institutionen.
