englischWhat is midwifery science? What is its subject? What theories and research methods does it use? This textbook is aimed at students of both midwifery science and applied health sciences. It introduces theoretical and ethical principles as well as quantitative and qualitative research approaches in midwifery science. The principles of evidence-based midwifery are presented in a clear and understandable way. The book also provides students with useful guidelines on academic work, in particular on writing term papers and bachelor's and master's theses.

Dorothea Tegethoff and Claudia Limmer are professors of midwifery science and head the bachelor’s degree programmes in midwifery at Rostock University Medical Centre and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences respectively.
