The contributions in this volume address these questions from an interdisciplinary perspective. They discuss dynamics in European constitutional law as well as specific challenges for democracy and the rule of law posed by recent crises. Moreover, they deal with crisis prevention and management in a constitutionalized international law.

Globale Krisen setzen nationale und völkerrechtliche konstitutionelle Errungenschaften unter Druck. Wie verändern sie die Rolle der Gerichte und von Politik bzw. Governance im und jenseits des Staates? Führen globale Krisen nur zu einer Erosion der konstitutionellen Idee oder können sie auch als Katalysator für (neue) konstitutionelle Ordnungen begriffen werden?
Die Beiträge des Bandes geben interdisziplinäre Antworten auf diese Fragen. Sie beleuchten die Dynamik im europäischen Verfassungsrecht ebenso wie bestimmte demokratische und rechtsstaatliche Krisenphänomene und Lösungsstrategien. Zudem nehmen sie zu unterschiedlichen Aspekten der Krisenprävention und -bewältigung durch ein konstitutionalisiertes Völkerrecht Stellung.
