englischThe study delivers insight into civic involvement in the social field of schools. It is focused on a collegiate association, whose engagement with pupils will be highlighted. The basis of motivation of the students, the effects on pupils who attend the tutorials, the reciprocity of the involved parties and the frame conditions will be analyzed. The study has an explorative character and six problem-centered guided interviews shed light on the engagement from different points of view of three involved stakeholder groups. The study is interesting for everyone concerning themselves with civic involvement in the education field on a scientific or practical level.

The author holds a university diploma in sociology and researches the field of civic involvement and education at the University of Cologne’s chair of social policy and qualitative research methods.
