This book develops a concept of ecological participation in which individual and collective existence extends into the sphere of the life contexts of nature and society. In these contexts, sustainable and prosperous conditions must be ensured. Key eco-centred approaches are discussed, which ask how such conditions can be maintained and how those involved can contribute to them in a responsible and competent manner. Individual, collective and institutional actors play a key role in the ecosystem of their relationship to one another in the changing organisation of existence.
In der ökologischen Krise und in der Transformation von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft wird von den Menschen verlangt, in ihrem Leben und Handeln den nötigen Wandel mitzuvollziehen. Sie haben aktiv oder passiv an ihm teil. Erscheint die Umwelt nicht dem Menschen gegenübergestellt, sondern als seine ökologische, sozial und ökonomisch ausgeprägte Situation, ist Partizipation an einer nachhaltig zu gestaltenden Entwicklung gefragt. Der Band entfaltet eine Konzeption ökologischer Teilhabe, mit der das individuelle und gemeinsame Dasein in den Raum der Lebenszusammenhänge von Natur und Gesellschaft reicht. In diesen ist haushaltend für nachhaltig gedeihliche Verhältnisse zu sorgen. Diskutiert werden relevante ökozentrierte Ansätze, die danach fragen, wie solche Verhältnisse zu erhalten sind und wie die Handelnden mündig und kompetent zu ihnen beitragen können.
