englischWe are living in a time of transition and therefore in a time of planning: the energy transition and the need to provide security of supply require greater diversification of gas deliveries, the build-up of infrastructure for the landing of LNG, the expansion of electricity grids for the transport of renewables and the build-up of a hydrogen industry make coordinated specialised and spatial planning necessary. Of course, there are also other planning needs, e.g. in future healthcare, the development of digital infrastructure and the development of the economy after the coronavirus crisis.

In this volume, German, Austrian and Taiwanese legal scholars consider the significance of planning in current public economic law, challenges that need to be overcome, special features of various planning laws and similarities that can be found in German, Austrian and Taiwanese planing laws.
