englischThe area of freedom, security and justice is one of the major achievements of the common Europe. It is constantly developing – legally, politically and practically. The conference proceedings describe this development and combine the public law and the criminal law perspective by gathering the contributions to the Forum Europäische Sicherheit (Conference on European Security) from 2011 and 2012. The focus lays on national concepts and their impact on and their integration in a common European approach towards overcoming security problems. The discussed topics are of current interest: General questions on the governments monopoly on the use of force, exchange of information and data protection are analysed as well as specific instruments, in particular the European investigation order and the European Police Records Index System. In way of this comprehensive and integrative approach the publication promotes an interdisciplinary dialogue in the area of freedom, security and justice. The purpose is to lay the jurisprudential foundations to provide security in Europe.
