englischIn fashion and pop culture, one encounters religious symbols surprisingly often, be it crosses on T-shirts, depictions of Buddha on handbags or the colourful goddess Kali on swimsuits. ‘Religion’ on clothing seems to be ‘in vogue’. This book conducts a study of the reception of religious symbols in the field of popular clothing from the perspective of religious studies and tests this approach in an examination of clothing practices in the Swiss black metal scene.

»Ein insgesamt beeindruckender Beweis für die Aussage "Fashion is my religion"!«

Prof. Dr. Lothar Mikos, tv diskurs 3/2021, 89
