englischThis study examines the (professional) experiences and perspectives of educators and students on conflicts in everyday school life that are related to religion. The book shows religion and religious identity to be mechanisms of segregation. Talking about religion-related conflicts is particularly relevant in order to enable school to be a protective space and also to strengthen religious students in particular in their formation of opinions against the repressive ideas of third parties (outside school). Such conflicts should not be seen as fundamentally negative but as a relevant component of democracy-based negotiation processes in everyday school life and should be included in educational policy discourses.
