englischThe legal nature of possession has always been contested. In this study, Christoph Lüttenberg draws on the works of Savigny, Jhering and Heck, while adding semantic epistemology based on the categorical differentiation between the sense, meaning and essence of legal terms.

The book explores these three categories of possession. By using the terminology and the abstractionism of a phenomenological approach, the author brings the act of possessing in real life into view and thus inductively integrates it into law.
