englischThe present work focuses on the certification of compliance management systems. The author outlines innovative approaches and defines operative requirements of the certification as a value-adding procedure within (criminal) compliance. He starts by elaborating basic principles and defining essential requirements of a compliance management system. Thereafter he evaluates sensible criteria for a certification standard. Subsequently he highlights the legal and factual implications of such a certification. Eventually he integrates these measurements in the respective regulative context and in due consideration of legal aspects develops a certification model to lower corruption within organizations. The work results from the comprehensive experience as an international certification service provider’s compliance officer and constitutes the need to modify current standards.
