This volume marks the two-thousandth anniversary of the princeps' death with a series of studies that offer new approaches to the Roman ruler Augustus and his reign. The title, Augustan Papers, commemorates the 80th anniversary of the publication Roman Papers (1939) by Ronald Syme.
