englischThe publication of the legacy of the archaeologist Herbert Jankuhn (1905-1990) represents an important contribution to so-called archival archaeology, which deals with the fragmented material and written records of the pre- and early history of those regions whose cultural heritage was largely lost during the Second World War. Adam Cieśliński takes us to western East Prussia and thus to archaeological find regions at the intersection of the Przeworsk and Wielbark cultures on the lower Vistula at the turn of the millennium. The archaeological groups of finds are presented in detail against the background of current archaeological research, providing important new impulses for the discussion of cultural and settlement dynamics.
