englischThe war in Ukraine has been discussed extensively on Twitter, including by journalists. They use the platform, which has since been renamed X, not only to disseminate and research information, but also to express their subjective opinions. Given their important role in opinion formation, it is crucial to investigate the extent to which these opinions are expressed. Using quantitative content analysis, this study investigates how political journalists from leading German me-dia present their views on the Ukraine war and to whom they are addressed. The results show, among other things, that leading media journalists are increasingly expressing opinions and evaluative statements that are predominantly negative in the sample.
