The main part of the work consists of a study on the legitimacy of (future) alternative options of dealing with the past, such as amnesties or the principle of opportunity. The author presents in detail suitable measures, implementation criteria, competences and powers of control. He finally verifies the compatibility of his considerations with different international obligations applicable to Colombia.
